Famous Domestic Startups and Startup Planners Including Kmong, Socialbean, and Crypton All Gathered
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Seryeong] The ‘2022 1st Gyeongnam Startup Forum’ will be held for three days starting from the 16th at the 2nd floor international conference room of the Gyeongnam Creative Economy Innovation Center.
According to Gyeongnam Province, this forum will be held under the theme of ‘Innovation Measures for the Gyeongnam Startup Ecosystem and Activation of Youth Startups.’
It was organized to analyze recent startup trends in response to the sluggish technology startups centered on manufacturing in the province and the rapidly changing international situation in the era of the 4th Industrial Revolution, and to seek ways to innovate the local startup ecosystem and activate public-private cooperative startups.
The forum will feature ▲a case presentation titled ‘Tears of Malm?, Sweden’ by Gong Seonghyun, Secretary General of the Korea Accelerator Association ▲a presentation on startup cluster construction strategies by Professor Park Kyunghoon of Changwon National University.
Professor Park Sanghyuk of Gyeongsang National University, an expert in fostering local creators, and Lee Jaehun, head of the provincial startup support group, will attend to discuss innovation measures and policy directions for the Gyeongnam startup ecosystem.
Startup-related experts including Park Hyunho, CEO of Kmong, known as a successful youth startup, Kim Haksoo, CEO of Socialbean, Yang Kyungjun, CEO of Krypton, a well-known domestic startup accelerator, Yoo Donggi, partner at Inlight Ventures, and Kwak Seongwook, CEO of Series Ventures, will also participate.
Startup support organizations such as the Gyeongnam Regional Small and Medium Venture Business Administration, Korea Ceramic Technology Institute, Gyeongnam Regional Startup Incubation Center Council, Gyeongnam National University, Youngsan University, and BNK Gyeongnam Bank will also be present.
The startup forum will include panel discussions, expert lectures, and Q&A sessions tailored to the interests of entrepreneurs and prospective entrepreneurs.
On the first day, topics such as ▲innovation measures and policy directions for the Gyeongnam startup ecosystem ▲activation measures for local-based startups will be covered; on the second day, ▲activation of youth startups ▲startup fields and major trends in the 4th Industrial Revolution era; and on the third day, ▲solutions to concerns faced by startup companies ▲sharing know-how from senior entrepreneurs will be discussed.
As a side event, products from tenant companies of the Gyeongnam Regional Startup Incubation Center Council will be exhibited.
The forum is free to attend for entrepreneurs, prospective entrepreneurs, startup support organization officials, as well as the general public interested in startups, local residents, and youth.

Lee Jaehun, head of the startup support group, said, “This forum will be an opportunity to share the latest startup trends and activate exchanges between entrepreneurs and investors,” adding, “We will innovate the Gyeongnam startup ecosystem through establishing base centers for balanced regional startup ecosystem development, activating open innovation between large, medium-sized, and startup companies, and expanding investment funds for small and medium enterprises.”
