Grilled Fish, Changed Sauce and Color... Dong-Eui Science University's Smart Food Cooking Department Sweeps Awards at Busan International AF Artisan Festival
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yong-woo] Students from the Smart Food Cooking Department at Dong-Eui Institute of Technology (President Kim Young-do) swept several awards including the Busan Mayor's Award, National Assembly Member's Award, and Association President's Award at the ‘2022 10th Busan International AF Artisan Festival’.
This AF Artisan Festival, sponsored by Busan City and hosted by the Korea Artisan Craftsmen Association, is a skills competition divided into six categories and was held over two days from November 5 to 6 at BEXCO Exhibition Hall 2.
The event, a prestigious competition with about 300 participants nationwide, saw first-year student Lee Jae-wook from Dong-Eui Institute of Technology’s Smart Food Cooking Department win the Busan Mayor's Award in the traditional local food student division. Additionally, students Choi Sung-ji, Joo Cheol-woo, Jung Chan-hee, Kim Ji-ae, and Park Seung-soo received the National Assembly Member's Award, while Kim Min-ji, Park So-eun, Kim Eun-jin, and Ryu Ye-eun were awarded the Association President's Award.
The winning traditional local food student division piece that received the Busan Mayor's Award featured fish, a representative ingredient of Busan. It was highly praised for the variation in taste and color of the sauce served with the grilled fish.
