Chairman Choi Jin-sik Sends Second Handwritten Letter to 3,153 Mid-sized Companies: The Reason Behind It
"Private-Led Growth Should Be Led by Successful Mid-Sized Companies"
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Cheol-hyun] Choi Jin-sik, chairman of the Korea Federation of Medium-sized Enterprises, appealed to representatives of medium-sized enterprises nationwide to join in innovation and challenges for the development of Korean industry and economic re-leap as key players in private-led growth.
Chairman Choi stated this in a handwritten letter sent on the 14th to representatives of 3,153 medium-sized enterprises, saying, "Let's show the world what kind of existence medium-sized enterprises are and what the entrepreneurial spirit of medium-sized businesspeople connecting generations can create."
A representative of the Federation explained, "Among 5,526 medium-sized enterprises, the recipients were limited to representatives of 3,153 medium-sized enterprises who provided their addresses during the issuance process of the medium-sized enterprise confirmation certificate." Chairman Choi had previously sent the first handwritten letter on April 12, shortly after his inauguration, appealing for participation in private-led institutional improvements.
Chairman Choi emphasized, "In the dynamic space where the private sector leads and the government supports, active research and innovation, bold investment, and challenges from medium-sized enterprises, the 'backbone' of the Korean economy, are required," adding, "We will continue to strive to improve the business environment for all medium-sized enterprises playing a key role in the development of Korean industry, including traditional manufacturing, ICT, pharmaceuticals, bio, as well as distribution, construction, culture, and food sectors."

Chairman Choi also said, "Medium-sized enterprises are the true center of the Korean economy, and the first-generation businesspeople standing at the forefront with their original intentions, passion, and memories of adversity are the greatest strength of medium-sized enterprises," urging, "Let us evolve beyond global specialized companies to become role models leading the world market by driving the growth of venture companies, spearheading industrial innovation suited to global environmental changes, and laying the foundation for sustainable growth."
