Ulsan City’s Final Push to Secure National Funding for Next Year
Mayor Kim Du-gyeom Meets with Budget Committee Chair and Ministry of Economy and Finance Budget Director

Mayor Kim Doo-gyeom plans to meet key figures from the National Assembly and the Ministry of Economy and Finance on the 15th to request support for maximizing the increase of national funds for Ulsan City's pending projects.
On the afternoon of the same day, Mayor Kim will visit the National Assembly to sequentially meet Woo Won-sik, Chairman of the Special Committee on Budget and Accounts, Lee Cheol-gyu, the ruling party's secretary, and Park Jeong, the opposition party's secretary, to intensively propose budget inclusion for major projects in Ulsan City.
He will also meet with Kim Wan-seop, Budget Director, Park Geum-cheol, Social Budget Review Officer, and Kim Dong-il, Economic Budget Review Officer, to explain the necessity of major projects not yet reflected in the national budget and seek cooperation to have them reviewed during the Budget Committee's examination stage.
The key proposed projects include ▲ Shipbuilding and marine steel manufacturing industry digital transformation (IDX) project ▲ Support project for securing core parts and vehicle safety of electric and hydrogen vehicles ▲ Establishment of the Yeongnam International Skilled Technology Promotion Institute ▲ Modernization of public agricultural and marine products wholesale market facilities ▲ Construction of a 3D printing convergence technology center ▲ Establishment of a hydrogen electric vehicle safety certification center ▲ Construction of a maritime logistics communication technology verification performance test site ▲ Creation of the Ulsan Disaster Safety Industry Promotion Center ▲ Construction of the Ulsan Garden Support Center ▲ Construction of the Ulsan National Industrial Complex underground pipeline integrated safety management center.
Mayor Kim Doo-gyeom said, “Before the National Assembly's budget review enters its final stage, it is important to check if there is anything we have missed and to secure even one more item until the very end. We will prepare projects that will lead the great Ulsan without any setbacks by securing next year's national funding.”

As the review by standing committees in the National Assembly is concluding, next year's government budget is expected to be finalized after the Budget Committee's review from the 17th through the end of November and the National Assembly plenary session's approval on December 2.
