Hyundai Marine & Fire Insurance Launches 'Healthy Pet Care Insurance' Covering Up to 300,000 KRW per Day for Medical Expenses
[Asia Economy Reporter Changhwan Lee] Hyundai Marine & Fire Insurance announced on the 15th that it has launched the 'Healthy Pet Care Insurance,' which comprehensively covers medical expenses, liability, and death consolation money for companion dogs.
This new product has made the coverage amount, which was a reason for hesitation in subscribing to pet insurance, more realistic to alleviate the actual burden of hospital expenses. The compensation limit for veterinary treatment, which was about 150,000 KRW per day, has been expanded to 300,000 KRW, and in case of surgery, compensation is provided up to 2,500,000 KRW per day.
Common skin and oral diseases in companion dogs are also covered, and dislocation of the knee and hip joints can be covered through extended special contracts. Liability coverage for companion dogs injuring people or other pets can be subscribed up to 10,000,000 KRW.
Additionally, various premium discount benefits are offered. A 5% discount is available upon submission of an animal registration certificate, a 3% discount for submitting a certificate of adoption of a stray dog, and an additional 5% discount from the renewal date if there were no accidents during the previous insurance period.
Subscription is possible from 91 days old up to 8 years old, and coverage can be extended up to 20 years old through renewals every 3 or 5 years.
