[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yong-woo] The Busan-area "Power Semiconductor Shared University" project, which trains semiconductor specialists, has been launched.
Busan City announced that on the 15th at 2 p.m., it will sign a business agreement for the operation of the Busan-area Power Semiconductor Talent Development Shared University between 13 local universities and the Busan Technopark Foundation at the convention hall on the 2nd floor of Busan City Hotel in Yeonje-gu.
The 13 universities are Dongmyung University, Dongseo University, Dong-A University, Dong-Eui University, Pukyong National University, Pusan National University, Silla University, Korea Maritime and Ocean University, Gyeongnam Information University, Dong-Eui Science University, Dongju University, Busan Institute of Science and Technology, and Busan Women's University.
About 100 people will attend the signing ceremony, including Busan Mayor Park Hyung-joon, National Assembly Education Committee member Seo Byung-soo, presidents of the 13 local universities, Kim Hyung-gyun, director of Busan Technopark, officials from the Ministry of Education, and representatives from power semiconductor-related companies in the Busan area.
This agreement involves the 13 local universities selected for the Ministry of Education's 3rd phase Leading University for Industry-Academia-Research Cooperation Development Project (LINC3.0) this year, participating in the operation of the shared university.
The shared university operation was prepared to foster manpower and industry in the power semiconductor field, where demand has recently increased. Busan City and Technopark will support the smooth promotion of this project.
Through this business agreement, each party plans to actively cooperate in the operation of the shared university, including ▲ joint operation of education for nurturing power semiconductor talent in the Busan area ▲ joint operation of education for employees of semiconductor-related companies ▲ joint operation of semiconductor experience education and camps for high school students ▲ joint use of educational courses and content produced during the project period.
Mayor Park Hyung-joon said, "The Power Semiconductor Talent Development Shared University will be a good example of industry-academia cooperation where local universities and companies grow together," adding, "We will do our best to create a virtuous cycle ecosystem of industry-academia cooperation so that universities overcome crises and create future growth engines for the region."
The Power Semiconductor Talent Development Center operation project is part of the Ministry of Education's 3rd phase Leading University for Industry-Academia-Research Cooperation Development Project (LINC3.0). Since last October, the Dong-Eui University LINC3.0 project group has been leading the joint operation with the 13 universities that signed the agreement.
