Hampyeong-gun Opens 500 Billion Won Era in 2023 Main Budget, Up 8.48% Compared to This Year
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Chunsu] Hampyeong County is drawing attention by opening the era of a 500 billion KRW main budget for the construction of a ‘New Leap, Hopeful Hampyeong.’
According to the county on the 14th, the 2023 main budget was organized at a scale of 500 billion KRW, an 8.48% increase from this year’s main budget (471.8 billion KRW).
Next year’s main budget consists of 501 billion KRW in the general account and 10.8 billion KRW in the special account, surpassing 500 billion KRW for the first time since the county’s establishment.
The breakdown of Hampyeong County’s general account expenditure budget for next year is as follows.
For a vibrant local economy, the budget reflects ▲creation of a country house complex (5.1 billion KRW) ▲construction of a complex cultural center in the agricultural and industrial complex (1.4 billion KRW) ▲Hampyeong-eup urban regeneration project (4.3 billion KRW) ▲issuance and operation of Hampyeong local gift certificates (2 billion KRW), among others.
For the development of agriculture, livestock, and fisheries, the budget includes ▲support for the low-methane forage comprehensive distribution center (5.9 billion KRW) ▲livestock manure joint resource (energy) project (3.6 billion KRW) ▲promotion of labor-saving excellent models for the onion industry (1.6 billion KRW) ▲Wolcheon Port and Seokchang Port fishing village New Deal 300 projects (6.1 billion KRW), among others.
Next, in the culture and tourism sector, the budget includes ▲Yongcheonsa area tourism development project (1.6 billion KRW) ▲construction of an indoor gymnasium in Wolya-myeon (2.2 billion KRW) ▲Hampyeong Sports Town development project (2 billion KRW) ▲construction of Hampyeong indoor swimming pool (3.5 billion KRW) ▲new construction of the cultural relic exhibition hall (3.6 billion KRW), among others.
For disaster prevention and improvement of residential conditions, the budget reflects ▲natural disaster risk improvement district maintenance project (3.9 billion KRW) ▲comprehensive maintenance project for flood and wind disaster living zones (2.4 billion KRW) ▲urban planning road construction project (5.7 billion KRW) ▲installation of maritime disaster evacuation facilities and evacuation routes (2.7 billion KRW) ▲priority management of sewage system projects (14.2 billion KRW), among others.
County Governor Lee Sang-ik said, “We strategically reset the direction of financial investment, including expenditure structure adjustment, focusing on the recovery of the people’s economy and organizing the budget mainly for local pending projects,” adding, “We will promote regional development and economic revitalization through rapid budget input.”
