[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Choi Ho-kwon, Mayor of Yeongdeungpo District, attended the ‘Anti-Communist Patriotic Martyrs Memorial Ceremony’ held on the afternoon of November 11, International Remembrance Day for UN Veterans, at the Anti-Communist Patriotic Martyrs Memorial Tower near Singil Station.
The memorial ceremony was hosted by the Yeongdeungpo District Veterans Association. Mayor Choi paid tribute to the patriotic spirits who sacrificed their lives for the country and expressed condolences to their bereaved families.
Mayor Choi Ho-kwon stated, “We will never forget and will eternally remember the noble sacrifice of the patriotic heroes who fiercely fought and died to protect the freedom and democracy of the Republic of Korea,” adding, “We will do our best to protect the lives and safety of our residents, which is the most important responsibility of the government.”
Yangcheon District (Mayor) held the ‘2022 Autumn Yangcheon Family Hiking Competition’ on the morning of the 12th around the Jiyangsan section of the Yangcheon Dullegil trail.
The main venue of the hiking competition, Jiyangsan, is a gentle mountain with an elevation of 125 meters. Participants completed the approximately 4.5 km hiking course starting from Yangcheon Middle School, passing through the Jiyangsan section of the Yangcheon Dullegil trail, and returning to the Children’s Forest Experience Center.
Prior to the event, the district conducted a preliminary inspection of the hiking trail course and deployed safety personnel throughout the sections on the day of the event to ensure accident prevention.
Mayor Lee Ki-jae, who hiked with the residents and stamped those who completed the course, said, “I am happy to spend the weekend chatting with residents in the beautiful late autumn mountains,” adding, “We will continue to do our best to make the city vibrant and joyful through various cultural and sports projects.”
Oh Seung-rok, Mayor of Nowon District, visited the ‘2022 Chungcheongbuk-do Premium Agricultural and Specialty Products Direct Market’ held at Junggye Neighborhood Park at 1:30 p.m. on the 11th.
This direct market was organized to provide residents with healthy and high-quality food by offering a place to purchase trustworthy and excellent quality agricultural and marine specialty products more closely, and to help increase the income of farmers and fishermen.
The market will be open for three days until the 13th. From 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., visitors to Junggye Neighborhood Park can find about 80 excellent agricultural and marine products from Chungbuk, including Shine Muscat grapes, Saengmyeong rice, and Daehak glutinous corn, at around 20 booths.
