Daegu Dalseong-gun (Governor Choi Jae-hoon) and Dalseong Briquette Bank (Executive Director Oh Il-young) held the "13th Love Briquette Sharing Reopening Ceremony" on the 10th at the permanent stage of Hyeonpung Baeknyeon Dokkaebi Market.
The event was attended by Choi Jae-hoon, Governor of Dalseong-gun; Cha Jun-yong, Chairman of Dalseong Welfare Foundation; Heo Ki-bok, Chairman of the National Briquette Bank Council; Oh Il-young, Executive Director of Dalseong Briquette Bank; Kim Won-gyu, Daegu City Council member; and Dalseong County Council members Kwak Dong-hwan, Park Young-dong, Choi Jae-gyu, Yang Eun-sook, and Lee Yeon-sook. About 300 people, including employees of Kookmin Bank Dalseong Industrial Complex Branch, students from various schools in Dalseong-gun, volunteers, and residents of Dalseong-gun, attended to add warmth.
At this event, Bapsang Community Welfare Foundation donated 30,000 briquettes, Dalseong Welfare Foundation 20,000 briquettes, Samsung Church 6,500 briquettes, Hyeonpung Bak So-seon Halmae Jip Gomtang 1,000 briquettes, and Kookmin Bank Dalseong Industrial Complex Branch donated 1 million won.
Starting with the reopening ceremony on this day, Dalseong Briquette Bank will actively carry out briquette sharing projects for low-income and marginalized groups in areas that need briquettes.
In 2021, through sponsorships and volunteer work from individuals, organizations, and groups, 70,000 briquettes were delivered to 320 households, becoming a warm support for the energy-poor in Dalseong-gun.
Executive Director Oh Il-young said, "At the Briquette Bank, we conduct fundraising activities and briquette sharing volunteer work so that low-income marginalized groups can have a warm winter," adding, "The bank will continue to open its doors until there are no residents suffering from the winter cold."
Governor Choi Jae-hoon of Dalseong-gun said, "I thank Executive Director Oh Il-young and the staff of Dalseong Briquette Bank who have delivered warmth to Dalseong-gun's winter every year," and added, "Starting with the reopening ceremony, we will strive to ensure that briquettes are evenly delivered to the energy-poor in Dalseong-gun."
