"Meet the Sea!" ... Busan Education Office Hosts Marine Education Concert
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Hwang Dooyul] The Busan Metropolitan Office of Education will hold a marine education concert for teachers and others four times from the 10th to the 29th at the Dong-gu Busan Science Experience Center.
The concert is organized to raise awareness of marine-related fields and is held under the theme "Meeting the Sea."
The first concert will be held on the 10th from 3:30 PM at the auditorium on the first floor of the Busan Science Experience Center, with Dr. Lee Sung-woo of the Korea Maritime Institute presenting on the topic "The Coffee World Brought by Logistics."
Following that, on the 15th, a lecture titled "Meeting with Marine Films" will be given by Jo Hana, chairperson of the International Marine Film Festival Organizing Committee.
On the 24th, Dr. Shim Won-jun of the Korea Institute of Ocean Science and Technology will give a lecture on "Marine Environmental Pollution - Focusing on Plastics," and on the 29th, Professor Lee Seung-heon of Dongmyung University will present on "Buildings in Busan Meeting the Sea."
Han Jong-hwan, director of the Future Talent Education Division at the Busan Office of Education, said, "This concert will be a good opportunity to enhance teachers' awareness of various marine-related fields and to activate marine education."

The Busan Office of Education plans to operate various policies to revitalize marine education in 2023 in connection with the local community, including ▲ dispatching polar region interpreters for about 1,000 sessions ▲ about 80 cluster-linked visiting academies for middle and high school students ▲ marine ecological career experience programs for high school students ▲ and field experience-centered training for teachers and school administrators.
