Namwon-si Selected for the ‘Experienced Senior Career Job Project’ Contest for 5 Consecutive Years
[Namwon=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Jeong Young-kwon] Namwon City, Jeonbuk Province, announced on the 9th that it has been selected for the Ministry of Employment and Labor’s ‘Senior Career-type Job Project’ contest for five consecutive years, the most in Jeonbuk.
In 2023, 12 projects in 6 fields were selected, securing about 780 million won in national and provincial funds, and plans to recruit 51 seniors in January next year.
Eligible participants are unemployed individuals aged 50 to under 65 who have at least 3 years of experience in the relevant field or hold related qualifications.
Participants are recognized as workers under the Labor Standards Act, signing employment contracts, receiving hourly wages of 11,000 to 16,000 won, and enrolling in the four major insurances.
The career-type job project for seniors will begin recruiting in various fields from early January.
The required experience includes ▲electricity, safety, civil engineering ▲career counseling, social work ▲groundwater, geology, industry ▲nursing experience in medical institutions ▲rural guidance, processing-related, inland aquaculture, return-to-farming/village related fields ▲librarian/reading guidance qualifications or library work experience ▲firefighting, organizing and storage ▲garden landscaping, garden and forest counseling psychology therapy fields ▲lacquerware, polishing, woodworking experience, and various careers to provide ‘social safety services’.
In addition to these qualifications, those wishing to participate can register their careers and qualifications through job counseling with the ‘Senior Job Manager’ at the Namwon City Job Center, updating the senior retiree database to discover job projects annually through the Ministry of Employment and Labor’s contest projects.
The city has been selected for the senior career-type job project contest the most in Jeonbuk for five consecutive years. This year, it secured a total project budget of 1.5 billion won, including 980 million won in national and provincial funds for 20 projects in 4 fields, creating 66 jobs.
A city official said, “We look forward to the new challenges of seniors who start their second act in life by continuously utilizing their expertise and experience while contributing to the local community,” adding, “We will continue to actively respond to government job contest projects to provide jobs to many citizens.”
