UNIST Rises Again in 'QS Asia University Rankings'... Also Receives QS Award
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Hwang Duyul] UNIST has jumped 18 places at once to rank 76th in the ‘QS Asia University Rankings’ and also received the ‘QS Award.’
The British university ranking organization QS (Quacquarelli Symonds) announced the results of the ‘Asia University Rankings 2023’ on the 9th.
In this evaluation, UNIST jumped 8 ranks at once to 76th in Asia, significantly improving its ranking for the second consecutive year. Among the evaluation indicators, it received a perfect score in ‘Citations per Paper,’ ranking first in Korea and second in Asia.
Along with the announcement of the university ranking results, QS presented awards in a total of 8 categories, including the top 10 universities.
UNIST was named the winner in the ‘Recognition of Improvement’ category, attracting attention for its ‘rapid growth.’
Drew MacFarlane, QS Ranking Manager, explained, “The rise in QS rankings means that the university has grown on its own and has made better progress than other universities participating in the ranking. This proves the university’s efforts to improve for students, including its reputation, research capabilities, and efforts to attract international faculty and students.”
In this evaluation, Peking University ranked first in Asia, followed by the National University of Singapore, Tsinghua University, the University of Hong Kong, and Nanyang Technological University forming the top 5.
In the domestic ranking, KAIST was the first to appear at 8th in Asia, followed by Yonsei University (12th), Korea University (15th), Seoul National University (17th), and Sungkyunkwan University (18th). UNIST rose 3 places from last year to 11th domestically.
