Hannam University Student Research Team Wins Excellence Award at the 'Undergraduate Biological Classification Research Paper Contest'

According to the university on the 8th, the contest is organized by the National Institute of Biological Resources under the Ministry of Environment and is regarded as a prestigious competition in the field of biological classification research.
The Hannam University student research team won the Excellence Award by presenting research results on ecological and behavioral classification criteria for different species of the genus Dotgeomi under the theme "Taxonomic Definition of the Korean Dotgeomi Genus."
Prior to the contest, the student research team conducted ecological surveys in Chungju, Chungbuk; Gongju, Chungnam; and Geoje, Gyeongnam, and based on the classification ecological data obtained on-site, they carried out morphological and taxonomic studies on the genus Dotgeomi distributed in Korea.

Meanwhile, the contest proceeds by accepting research proposals from universities nationwide, announcing the first selection results, followed by two months of expert consultation and paper writing, culminating in a final paper presentation and awards ceremony.
