[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Jin-hyung] Nam-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City, as part of the smart city solution expansion project, will officially provide smart bus stop services equipped with smartphone charging, acquisition of various information such as weather through LCD panels, security CCTV, emergency bells, and automated external defibrillators (AED) at bus stops.
This is the second innovation project in the public transportation sector following the shared parking service for 2,192 parking spaces across 45 parking lots in the district in the first half of this year.
Nam-gu announced on the 8th, "We have completed the construction of smart bus stops at three locations: Bitgoeul Senior Health Town, Bongseon 2-dong Administrative Welfare Center, and in front of the International Archery Range in Juwol-dong," adding, "From this month, various services combined with smart technology will be fully provided."
The smart bus stop is a facility that provides various services based on Internet of Things (IoT) by integrating cutting-edge technology.
To block droplet spread inside the bus stop, it is equipped with a vertical surface spray negative pressure system that causes droplets to settle vertically to the floor, and an automated external defibrillator (AED) that saves patients' lives in sudden emergencies. It also offers wireless smartphone charging, public Wi-Fi, and heated benches.
Additionally, it features security CCTV and emergency bells that allow monitoring through high-resolution video, and LED panels installed inside the bus stop where users can check weather and bus arrival times.
Furthermore, a people counter is installed on the automatic door to identify users entering the indoor shelter, and through smart sensors, LED lighting, heating, and air circulation can be remotely controlled, making it an intelligent bus stop.
Moreover, it is equipped with braille tactile plates and braille blocks for transportation-vulnerable disabled persons, and a filter system with ultra-fine dust removal and sterilization functions to protect the health of residents using public transportation.
