The Seoul Guro Police Station announced that from around 8:13 a.m. to 9 a.m. on the same day, a total of 12 reports were made to the police and fire department at Gaebong Station, Guro Station, and Sindorim Station on Line 1.
Reporters complained with statements such as "The train is so packed I can't breathe," "It feels like an accident will happen," and "The congestion is so severe that control seems necessary."
Gaebong Station staff also reportedly called the police, saying, "The number of passengers boarding at Gaebong Station is so large that it feels like an accident will occur," and "It seems difficult to control with only two station staff, so please send support."
Responding to the police's request for cooperation, the Guro Fire Department dispatched six vehicles and 26 personnel to Gaebong Station around 8:19 a.m. to manage the scene. Fortunately, no casualties were confirmed.
