Gijang-gun Holds 3rd Gijang Green Onion and Pajeon Promotion Event ... Commemorating Registration of Gijang Green Onion Geographical Indication No. 105
November 5-6, Two Days at Munjung Breakwater
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Dongguk Lee] Busan Gijang-gun will hold the "3rd Gijang Jjokpa·Pajeon Promotion Event" for two days from the 5th to the 6th near the Munjung Breakwater, hosted by the Gijang Jjokpa Agricultural Cooperative Corporation.
This event, held to commemorate the registration of Gijang Jjokpa as Geographical Indication No. 105 and to promote its excellent quality, consists of ▲ cooking and selling Gijang Pajeon ▲ discount sales of Gijang Jjokpa (peeled green onions and soil-grown green onions) and green onion kimchi ▲ sales of local agricultural and specialty products.
As the national mourning period has been declared until the 5th, the event scale will be minimized as much as possible and conducted quietly to focus solely on promoting agricultural products.
The registration of Gijang Jjokpa as a geographical indication was certified for the history, fame, local characteristics, and geographical features of the green onion, and was registered as No. 105 in March 2018. It has become the only agricultural product registered as a geographical indication for green onions in Korea.
