Gwangju Seo-gu, Recruiting Students for Lifelong Vocational Education Courses
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Shin Dong-ho] Seo-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City (Mayor Kim I-gang) is continuously recruiting students for lifelong vocational education programs in specialized local fields and general fields as part of the Higher Vocational Education Hub District (HIVE) project.
According to Seo-gu on the 3rd, the HIVE project is a program that supports local governments and junior colleges to collaborate in selecting specialized local fields that align with regional development goals, linking and reorganizing the education system, and playing a hub role in local-based higher vocational education.
The program recruitment fields are divided into specialized fields and general fields. The 12 specialized courses include Level 1 Social Worker, Care Coordinator, Senior Community Care Manager, Multi-disciplinary Facilitator, Integrated Oral Health Management Expert, and Dementia Care Leader.
The 23 general courses include musculoskeletal specialist physical therapist certification courses, sports rehabilitation massage and taping techniques, safety management instructor training courses, dental health insurance claim manager certification courses, loss adjuster certification courses, child and elderly care instructor training courses, and scalp care expert training courses.
Additionally, a total of 35 courses are offered, including medicinal fermentation food expert courses, horticultural psychotherapy expert training courses, florist expert training courses, coffee barista training courses, and traditional Korean herbal flower tea sommelier training courses.
The duration and tuition fees for each course can be checked on the Gwangju Health University Lifelong Education Center website, and applications are accepted year-round.
In particular, Seo-gu established the Gwangju Health University Education Center near the government office on the 13th of last month to make education more accessible to local residents.
Mayor Kim I-gang of Seo-gu said, "Through this project, we have operated specialized lifelong vocational education courses for local residents together with Gwangju Health University. We will do our best to contribute to building a local-linked lifelong vocational education system, providing customized education services for workers, and creating jobs in the local community."
Meanwhile, Gwangju Health University has newly established and reorganized two departments, Welfare Management and Food and Nutrition, as local specialized linked departments through the HIVE project, and is currently recruiting freshmen for the Welfare Management department for the 2023 academic year.
