Jangseong-gun Promotes Fluoride Application Project for 1st to 3rd Grade Elementary Students' Teeth
[Jangseong=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Jo Hangyu] Jangseong-gun, Jeollanam-do is promoting a 'Tooth Fluoride Application' project for elementary school students in grades 1 to 3.
According to the county on the 3rd, 'Tooth Fluoride Application' is a procedure that forms a fluoride film on the tooth surface to suppress bacteria, which is effective in preventing cavities, and the procedure is simple enough for lower-grade children to receive without burden.
Previously, since the 26th of last month, the county has been applying tooth fluoride to students in grades 1 to 3 at 13 elementary schools in the region.
About 450 children with parental consent are the target, and the cost is supported by the county.
The application work is carried out by a dedicated team consisting of dentists and dental hygienists who visit directly.
Education on proper brushing methods is also conducted simultaneously, and the schedule is planned to be completed by the 18th.
A county health center official said, "Children's oral health will be greatly improved through tooth fluoride application and health education."
