Agriculture and Fisheries Market Charity Event Drive-Thru! ... BPA Hosts Charity Event 'Dahamtge Chachacha'
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Hwang Du-yeol] Busan Port Authority (BPA) held the charity event ‘4th Dahamkke ChaChaCha’ over two days on the 29th and 30th at the outdoor parking lot of Busan International Passenger Terminal.
The event was attended by nine Busan Port container terminal operators, four public institutions in the Busan area, and the Save the Children Southern Branch, an international relief and development NGO.
The public institutions participating from the Busan area were Busan Port Authority, Korea Southern Power, Korea Water Resources Corporation, and Busan Urban Corporation.
The Busan Port container terminal operators included Hutchison Korea Terminal, Dongwon Busan Container Terminal, Busan Port Terminal, Busan New Port International Terminal, Busan New Port, Hanjin Busan Container Terminal, HMM PSA New Port, BNCT, and Busan Container Terminal.
‘Dahamkke ChaChaCha’ is an event where local agricultural products are purchased and sold to support farmers and fishermen, allowing Busan citizens to buy agricultural and marine products at affordable prices. The sales proceeds are used for Save the Children’s meal support projects for low-income families, making it a charity event.
About 320 vehicles visited the event, where citizens directly received agricultural and marine product packages in their cars on-site, and vehicles without prior reservations also participated in the charity event through on-site purchases.
Since 2020, the event had been held non-face-to-face every year, but this year, for the first time in the 4th edition, offline booths were also operated.
Citizens enjoyed food trucks, social enterprises, and village enterprise booths, and participated in various programs such as exhibitions of artworks made from marine debris and experience booths within the waterfront park of the Busan Port North Port redevelopment.
The organizers dispersed pre-reserved vehicles by time slots to prepare for possible safety accidents and deployed about 20 additional safety personnel.
On the 30th, some on-site events were canceled, and the event concluded in a calm atmosphere.
On the 26th, BPA held an ESG management declaration ceremony with 10 Busan Port container terminal operators to establish a sustainable ESG management ecosystem in the Busan Port and port industry sectors.
