Government Supports Pohang Export Companies Affected by Typhoon 'Hinnamno' to Resolve Difficulties
[Asia Economy Sejong=Reporter Kwon Haeyoung] The Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy announced on the 2nd that it held the 8th meeting of the Export Field Support Group to resolve export difficulties faced by companies in the Pohang area of Gyeongbuk, which were damaged by Typhoon No. 11 'Hinnamnor'.
The meeting, held at the POSCO International Hall in Pohang, was attended by five export companies in the Pohang area, including Samjeong Industry, Nexteel, Shinwoo, The Joeun F&B, and Ilji Tech. The Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy plans to resolve difficulties by providing on-site consulting from export-related organizations, export vouchers, and marketing budget support, as these companies requested assistance related to marketing, finance, and logistics.
The Export Field Support Group has held meetings in seven regions nationwide so far and received 79 cases of difficulties related to logistics, marketing, and export finance. Among them, financial difficulties such as exchange rate fluctuations and interest rate hikes were the most common, with 21 cases.

The Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy stated that it is supporting the prompt resolution of difficulties by selecting four companies eligible for financial support from the Korea Trade Insurance Corporation and five companies eligible for marketing support from KOTRA.
