View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Han Jinju] The Korean Women’s Associations United condemned the police for producing a report containing online trends and information about civic groups related to the Itaewon tragedy, stating that "the police distorted the facts and fabricated a false report as if they had contacted internal members."
On the 2nd, the Korean Women’s Associations United stated, "We have never had contact with the police, nor have we reviewed the contents mentioned in the report," and criticized, "The National Police Agency distorted the facts and maliciously framed our organization as if we were politically exploiting this tragedy."
The 'Policy Reference Material' document from the National Police Agency, disclosed by SBS News, was created on the 31st of last month and included a section titled 'Reactions from Major Groups,' which mentioned that "progressive groups are discussing response plans, considering this as the largest tragedy since the Sewol ferry disaster that could lead to a movement for the government’s resignation."
