Musicals and Plays Reunite in Theaters... Arts Council Partners with CGV for 'Arko Live'
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Heeyoon] The Korea Arts & Culture Education Service announced on the 31st that it will hold 'Arko Live' in collaboration with CGV throughout November.
'Arko Live' will sequentially release one film every Wednesday for a month and screen it for one week. Starting with the musical 'Mia Familia,' audiences can experience the play 'Ineo: The Woman Who Called the Sea,' the dance performance 'Mulsok Goliat,' and the musical 'Special Delivery.'
The screenings will take place at 10 theaters nationwide, including CGV Yongsan I'Park Mall, CGV Daehangno, and CGV Cheonan Terminal.
The first release is the musical 'Mia Familia,' which opens on the 2nd of next month. Set in 1930s New York during the Great Depression, the work unfolds on stage the meaning of existence that gives strength to live and the loneliness felt by modern people in reality through a sensory story and music spanning various genres.
The play 'Ineo: The Woman Who Called the Sea' tells the story of the Greek and Liv couple from Norway moving next door to the Harde and Schol couple living in Iceland. It was selected as an excellent production support work in the 2016 Creative Workshop.
The dance performance 'Mulsok Goliat,' screening from the 16th, reinterprets a short story by writer Kim Aeran into contemporary dance. Through the image of a family drifting due to a long rainy season, it portrays the fragile human being who cannot resist.
