View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Jeong Dong-hoon] Hanwha Solutions announced on the 31st that it will participate in the 'Climate Action 1.5℃' campaign to raise awareness of the seriousness of climate change among future generations and encourage employees' carbon reduction activities.
The 'Climate Action 1.5℃' campaign is centered around the Climate Action 1.5℃ mobile application (app) developed by the Ministry of Environment and the Ministry of Education to help students adopt climate-friendly lifestyle habits. Through participation in this campaign, Hanwha Solutions will produce a webtoon highlighting the importance of solar-powered eco-friendly energy and support the 'School Challenge' content and events for the second semester of 2022 currently underway in the app.
The School Challenge, scheduled to run from the 19th of last month to the 6th of next month, involves approximately 35,000 elementary, middle, and high school students based on app users, who are engaging in carbon-neutral activities such as recording practice diaries on climate action. Hanwha Solutions plans to hold an initial consonant matching quiz event themed on eco-friendly energy webtoons from November 1 to 5, awarding participants with prizes such as coffee grounds flowerpots.
Hanwha Solutions stated, "We will prepare various climate change response programs that future generations can directly participate in to support the development of positive awareness and habits regarding carbon reduction activities from childhood."
Prior to the School Challenge, Hanwha Solutions conducted a 'Carbon Neutral Challenge' in September, where about 600 employees used the 'Climate Action 1.5℃' app to accumulate points through carbon reduction activities. Participants engaged in eco-friendly activities that can be practiced daily, such as reducing printed paper usage and growing plants in the office, fostering a friendly competition.
