KOTRA announced on the 31st that it published a report titled "Startups That Emerged Overseas in the Pandemic Era," compiling cases of 19 overseas startups that succeeded in starting businesses or expanding their operations by turning the COVID-19 crisis into an opportunity.
The report includes innovative startup cases such as an Israeli startup providing delivery services using GPS signals and a German online education company employing actors to teach physics classes. It introduced successful business cases in six themes, including food culture and education, discovered by KOTRA overseas trade offices.
Kim Taeho, Head of KOTRA's Economic and Trade Cooperation Headquarters, said, "During the pandemic, global interest in non-face-to-face activities and 'eco-friendliness' has increased, leading to the spotlight on new industries such as digital healthcare, edutech, and eco-friendly mobility. We hope this booklet will help prospective Korean entrepreneurs understand promising overseas startup cases and local trends and gain advice on overseas expansion."
