On the afternoon of the same day, Prime Minister Han visited the situation room of the National Medical Center and Seoul National University Hospital, stating, "The tragic accident that should never have happened in Itaewon yesterday has resulted in 151 deaths so far, which is heartbreaking," and gave these instructions.
At the National Medical Center situation room, Prime Minister Han said, "There are still people who have sustained minor and major injuries and are being transported to hospitals for treatment," adding, "The government must mobilize all available medical resources to ensure thorough treatment for the injured and do its utmost to prevent further harm."
He continued, "The National Medical Center is the control tower for emergency situation management," and requested, "Please do your best to check in real-time whether there are any deficiencies in patient transport and treatment on site and to provide timely support."
