According to the Prime Minister's Office, on the afternoon of the 29th, Prime Minister Han Deok-su spoke with Nam Hwa-young, acting commissioner of the Fire Agency, who is directing the rescue operation on site, and requested, "Mobilize all available equipment to quickly secure the access route and successfully rescue the trapped individuals."

Two workers are currently buried at the site.
