The Cyber Investigation Unit of the Gyeonggi Southern Provincial Police Agency announced on the 26th that they have sent Dongho Lee to the prosecution on charges of habitual gambling and violation of the Act on Promotion of Information and Communications Network Utilization and Information Protection. However, the police decided not to prosecute the allegations of illegal prostitution raised together due to insufficient evidence.
According to the police, Lee is suspected of engaging in illegal gambling multiple times on a card game site from January 2019 until the end of last year. He is also accused of posting obscene content on some internet sites. The police did not disclose whether Lee admitted to the charges during the investigation.
Earlier, the police had received a related complaint against Lee from the Garosero Research Institute (Gaseyeon) at the end of last year and have been conducting an investigation. On the 14th of last month, Lee was summoned for questioning.
