Deputy Prime Minister Choo Kyung-ho Meets ADB President...Agrees to Cooperate on Next Year's Incheon Annual Meeting
[Asia Economy Sejong=Reporter Kwon Haeyoung] Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy and Finance Choo Kyung-ho met with the President of the Asian Development Bank (ADB) ahead of the annual meeting to be held next year in Songdo, Incheon.
According to the Ministry of Economy and Finance on the 26th, Deputy Prime Minister Choo met with ADB President Masatsugu Asakawa at the Government Seoul Office and signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) outlining the division of tasks and cooperation plans for the 2023 annual meeting.
The government plans to hold the ADB annual meeting in Songdo, Incheon, from May 2 next year. Deputy Prime Minister Choo serves as the chairperson of the meeting as the representative of the next host country.
Deputy Prime Minister Choo also emphasized the need to establish a specialized hub in Korea for ADB’s climate change response efforts.

President Asakawa responded by proposing the creation of a Climate Innovation Technology Knowledge Hub (tentative name) in Korea to expand the cooperation network. Both sides plan to continue related working-level discussions in the future.
