Gwangju Seo-gu Geumho 1-dong, Photo Zone Created in Civil Service Office
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Shin Dong-ho] The Geumho 1-dong Administrative Welfare Center in Seo-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City (Director Song Min-cheol) offers a service called ‘Happiness Center that Captures Memories of Love,’ where visitors to the civil service office can take home their own unique stories.
According to the Geumho 1-dong Administrative Welfare Center on the 26th, this service consists of providing customized photos and letters, such as ID photos for first-time resident registration, family photos for birth registration, and touching stories.
The Geumho 1-dong Administrative Welfare Center has created a photo zone within the civil service office to move away from rigid and bureaucratic administration and aims to provide memories to customers. Staff members personally take memory photos with a Polaroid camera for visitors.
The first customer of this service was the first graduating class of Sangmu Elementary School, who visited their hometown from places such as Paju, Gyeonggi-do, for a class reunion. They expressed that it was meaningful to leave unexpected memories at the administrative welfare center, which was their gathering place.
A representative of the Geumho 1-dong Administrative Welfare Center said, “This is the result of our efforts to find ways to show our willingness to approach residents first. We will strive to transform this space from a simple office for issuing documents and consultations into a place filled with visitors’ memories.”
