Meet 'Happy Learning' at Gwangju Nam-gu Pureungil Park
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Jin-hyung] Nam-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City, will hold the "8th Nam-gu Harmony Lifelong Learning Festival" on the 29th to share the joy of learning with residents.
The theme of this festival is "The Joy of Learning! Adding Sharing!" and it will take place at the Green Road Park Plaza behind Big Expo in Juwol-dong.
The festival will feature lifelong learning institutions, study clubs, and students from the district all coming together.
In particular, to commemorate Nam-gu's selection as a lifelong learning city for the disabled by the Ministry of Education earlier this year, a space will be prepared where residents can share and enjoy the learning outcomes of disabled people who have studied at the Happy Learning Center.
Before the event, a 15-minute video showcasing lifelong learning activities throughout the year will be screened, along with a vocal performance by a student majoring in music at Chonnam National University.
On the opening ceremony stage, there will be an award ceremony for writing contest winners followed by a time for reading their works.
After the opening ceremony, a full program of performances, exhibitions, and hands-on experiences sharing lifelong learning results with local residents will be held.
At the performance plaza, there will be an instrumental ensemble by the Green Road Ensemble, yodel songs and harmonica performances by Art Evergreen, and a musical titled "My Precious Voice" prepared by the Korea Deaf Education Association featuring hearing-impaired performers.
For the exhibition plaza, two local cooperatives will display works such as pouches and crossbody bags, and Sosoe, a participating group, will present folk painting works.
Additionally, the Nam-gu Disabled Welfare Center and Siloam Disabled Welfare Center will exhibit wood burning and napkin decoupage works, respectively.
The experience plaza will have 12 booths offering activities including dementia prevention cognitive training, wildflower embroidery, total crafts, flower tea sommelier, rattan and punch needle crafts, bicycle learning and safety rules, and counseling programs for life redesign.
