National Archives of Korea Launches Full-Scale Collaboration Project with UNESCO in Records Management Field
Attended UNESCO 30th Anniversary Event... Initiated Free Aid Project Through Collaboration
[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Cheol-young] The National Archives of the Ministry of the Interior and Safety announced on the 26th that it will actively promote cooperation projects in the field of records management with UNESCO.
To commemorate the 30th anniversary of the UNESCO Memory of the World (MoW) program, the National Archives will participate in the international symposium and expert roundtable meetings held over two days from the 27th to the 28th at UNESCO headquarters (Paris, France).
On the 27th, they will participate in the international symposium titled "Your window to the world: Enlisting documentary heritage to promote inclusive, just and peaceful societies."
At the expert roundtable meeting held on the 28th, specialists in the field of documentary heritage will gather to continue discussions on developing inspection systems for the safe preservation and management of documentary heritages registered as Memory of the World.
Meanwhile, in line with the 30th anniversary of the Memory of the World program, a free records management assistance project targeting Morocco and C?te d'Ivoire in the African region will also be actively promoted. To this end, the National Archives plans to sign a Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation in records management between the National Archives of the Republic of Korea and the National Archives of the Kingdom of Morocco at the National Archives of Morocco (Rabat, Morocco) on the 1st of next month.
On the 3rd of next month, a joint training session to launch the "C?te d'Ivoire Amadou Hamp?t? B? Foundation Archive Preservation and Digitization Project," promoted under an agreement between the Korean government and UNESCO, will be held at the Amadou Hamp?t? B? Foundation (Abidjan, C?te d'Ivoire).
