Let's Travel to Sapporo's 'Snow Country'... Air Busan Greatly Expands Winter Season Flights to Japan Routes
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Hwang Du-yeol] Air Busan is set to strengthen its route schedule significantly, including resuming flights on the Busan-Narita (Tokyo) and Sapporo routes and increasing frequencies on some routes, in line with the winter flight schedule effective from the 30th.
Air Busan will resume its Busan-Sapporo and Busan-Narita routes, which had been suspended since the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Sapporo route, known as a representative winter travel destination in Japan, will operate one round trip daily starting November 30.
The route departs from Gimhae International Airport at 8:35 AM and arrives at Sapporo Chitose Airport at 11:00 AM. The return flight departs from the local airport at 11:55 AM and arrives at Gimhae Airport at 2:40 PM.
The Busan-Narita route, suspended since April 2020, will resume with one round trip daily starting December 9.
The route departs from Gimhae International Airport at 8:05 AM and arrives at Narita International Airport at 10:10 AM. The return flight departs from the local airport at 11:05 AM and arrives at Gimhae Airport at 1:30 PM.
In addition to resuming flights on the Sapporo and Narita routes, Air Busan will significantly increase the frequency of its currently operating Japan routes.
The Busan-Fukuoka route, currently operating two round trips daily, will increase to three daily flights starting the 30th, and to four daily flights starting December 8.
Japan routes departing from Incheon will also be greatly expanded. Starting the 30th, the Incheon-Narita and Incheon-Osaka routes, currently operating one round trip daily, will increase to two daily flights, and the Incheon-Fukuoka route, currently operating three times a week, will increase to one round trip daily.
Additionally, Southeast Asian routes will see expanded operations. The Busan-Da Nang, Busan-Bangkok, and Incheon-Bangkok routes will increase to up to one round trip daily, while the Busan-Cebu route will increase to four times a week. The Busan-Kota Kinabalu route will resume with four weekly flights starting December 21.
Air Busan announced that during the winter flight schedule period from the 30th through March 25 of next year, it plans to operate 13 international routes from Gimhae International Airport and 7 international routes from Incheon International Airport.
An Air Busan official stated, “We decided on a large-scale increase and resumption of flights anticipating a rise in tourists to Japan during the winter season, especially to the winter destination Sapporo. We will enhance competitiveness across all areas including sales, marketing, and safe operations to ensure that strengthening Japan routes leads to improved performance.”
