This has raised expectations that investor sentiment in the Korean stock market may also improve.
Seosangyoung, a researcher at Mirae Asset Securities, said on the 26th, "The rise in the US stock market on this day will have a favorable impact on the Korean stock market," adding, "Amid the recent sharp declines, sectors such as electric vehicles and secondary batteries led the gains, and the strength in sectors with positive factors such as software and semiconductors will raise expectations for related sectors in the Korean stock market as well."
However, it is expected that the fact that Alphabet, Google's parent company, reported weak earnings after the US market closed and is sharply declining will act as a burden on the Korean stock market.
Han Jiyoung, a researcher at Kiwoom Securities, also analyzed, "Similar to the mid-summer rally, the combination of this year's third-quarter earnings season progressing better than expected and the Federal Reserve's expected policy pace adjustment is restoring market risk appetite."
He continued, "The Korean stock market is expected to be supported by the decline in the won-dollar exchange rate (-6 won) due to the easing of the dollar's strength and the strength of US growth stocks such as Tesla (5.3%) and Meta (6.0%)," but "Microsoft's better-than-expected earnings notwithstanding, concerns over its cloud business and Alphabet's earnings shock due to decreased advertising revenue, which caused a sharp drop of over 6% in after-hours trading, will act as downward pressure."
