On the 24th, County Governor Kim Soon-ho held a policy discussion meeting with department heads and emphasized the meticulous implementation of current tasks such as helping hands in rural areas to reduce the burden on farmers in Gurye-gun.
At the discussion meeting, Governor Kim instructed to focus on labor-vulnerable farms and promote helping hands for farms having difficulty with farming work. He also ordered active county administration including promoting ideas for the second half of the year, preparing for the 46th Jirisan Piagol Autumn Foliage Festival, and thorough preparation for the persimmon direct transaction market.
Gurye-gun announced that it will mobilize all employees for about a month until November 25 to help hands so that the main autumn crops, persimmons and sansuyu (Cornus fruit) farms, can be harvested on time.
The county plans to select 53 farms vulnerable to labor shortages, such as farms unable to work due to COVID-19, diseases, injuries, or elderly farmers, and promote helping hands. It also plans to encourage participation in helping hands from local military units, public institutions, civic and social organizations, and educational institutions.
