Man Wearing Electronic Ankle Bracelet Arrested by Police for Threatening and Detaining Ex-Girlfriend with a Weapon
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Jin-hyung] A man in his 40s who threatened and confined his ex-girlfriend with a weapon while wearing an electronic ankle bracelet was arrested by the police.
The Gwangju Western Police Station announced on the 25th that they have arrested and are investigating A (mid-40s) on charges of special confinement.
A is accused of threatening his ex-girlfriend B (in her 30s) with a weapon around 3:30 PM the previous day at his home in Ssangchon-dong, Seo-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City, repeatedly assaulting her abdomen and head about five times with his foot, and confining her for four hours.
The police responded after receiving a 112 emergency call via text message from B and arrested A at the scene.
According to the police, since the 22nd, A had been threatening B with family-related threats and forcing her to come to his house.
A reportedly committed this crime after refusing to accept B’s request to break up.
A was also wearing an electronic ankle bracelet due to past sexual assault charges.
