Ministry of Health and Welfare and Korea Health Industry Development Institute Hold 'Healthcare Trade Forum'
[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Chun-hee] The Ministry of Health and Welfare and the Korea Health Industry Development Institute announced on the 21st that they will hold the 'Healthcare Trade Forum: New Trade Order and Our Response Direction' at 3 p.m. at EL Tower in Yangjae-dong, Seoul, targeting companies and associations related to the health industry.
This healthcare trade forum was planned to share the recent international supply chain restructuring, which poses both threats and opportunities to us, and the direction of major trading countries' trade policies centered on their own countries such as the United States, and to seek response directions for our industry.
At this forum, experts in the field of international trade from industry, research institutions, academia, and associations will participate to present and discuss the topics from various perspectives, and communicate on-site with association and company representatives.
In the keynote presentations, Senior Research Fellow Ko Jun-sung from the Korea Institute for Industrial Economics and Trade will present on 'Trends in New Protective Measures for U.S. Technology Controls Against China.' Professor Jung Myung-hyun of Korea University is scheduled to present on 'Recent Trade Policy Directions of the U.S. and EU Related to the Health Industry.'
Following this, Jang Ji-chul, a certified public accountant at Cornerstone Advisors, will explain 'Anti-dumping Investigation Response Measures and Anti-dumping Tariff Rate Calculation Logic' regarding anti-dumping tariffs, which have recently become a direct threat to our companies.
In the subsequent discussion, Professor Kang Jun-ha of Hongik University, a member of the Ministry of Health and Welfare's trade advisory group, will chair the session and lead a discussion on 'Response Directions of Our Health Industry in the Rapidly Changing Trade Environment in the Post-COVID Era.' A Q&A session with association and company representatives attending on-site is also scheduled.
The Ministry of Health and Welfare and the Korea Health Industry Development Institute plan to hold such healthcare trade forums regularly so that our health industry can keep pace with the rapidly changing international trade order and prepare timely response measures.

Through the healthcare trade forum, we will promptly share the trade policies of major trading countries and new protective trade measures and strive to strengthen the capabilities of our companies to respond.”
