A man in his 20s scammed over 40 million KRW with fake agricultural equipment listings like "Tractor for Sale" on secondhand sites
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Hwang Du-yeol] A man in his 20s who posted fake items on a secondhand trading site claiming to sell tractors and swindled tens of millions of won from farmers and self-employed people has been caught.
Busan Dongbu Police Station announced on the 13th that they arrested a man in his 20s, Mr. A, at an officetel in Busanjin-gu on suspicion of fraud at the end of September.
According to the police, Mr. A posted fake listings of used agricultural machinery such as tillers and tractors from May to August for about three months, swindling approximately 39.5 million won from 27 farmers and self-employed individuals.
It is known that Mr. A spent all the money collected through this method on living expenses.
