Purpose of Securing Materials Related to Headquarters Safety Management
[Asia Economy Reporter Yuri Kim] On the 11th, the police conducted a search and seizure at the headquarters of Hyundai Department Store Group to investigate the cause of the fire at Hyundai Premium Outlet Daejeon Branch, which resulted in 8 casualties.
According to the police, 10 officers from the Daejeon Police Agency began the search and seizure at Hyundai Department Store headquarters in Gangnam-gu, Seoul, around 1:45 PM on the same day. The police are expected to secure safety management-related materials from the headquarters to investigate whether there was any professional negligence causing injury or death related to the fire at Hyundai Outlet Daejeon Branch.
Earlier, on the 28th of last month, the Daejeon Police Investigation Headquarters conducted a search and seizure at Hyundai Premium Outlet Daejeon, securing documents and computer hard disks from the comprehensive disaster prevention room on basement level 1. The seized items include fire-fighting equipment and safety management-related materials such as sprinkler and smoke control facilities, CCTV footage from the time of the fire, and servers for disaster prevention room equipment.
