Gwangju National Science Museum's Fascinating and Beautiful 'Weather and Climate Photo Exhibition'
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Jin-hyung] The National Gwangju Science Museum is holding the "2022 Weather and Climate Photo Exhibition," featuring fascinating and beautiful meteorological phenomena and scenes of weather in our daily lives, at the 2nd floor central hall of the permanent exhibition hall of the National Gwangju Science Museum until the 16th.
Held in cooperation with the Gwangju Regional Meteorological Administration, this exhibition introduces award-winning works from the annual weather and climate photo contest, where citizens directly capture and record various meteorological phenomena. This year, about 30 award-winning works, including the grand prize-winning piece "Localized Heavy Rain," are showcased.
Along with the photo exhibition, award-winning works from the integrated climate change science contest are also displayed.
Visitors can enjoy creative works that highlight the importance of weather and climate through themes such as the current status and future outlook of climate change, including paintings, calligraphy, three-line stories, and six-line acrostic poems.
Deputy Director Jeon Tae-ho said, "This photo exhibition features various works capturing rare meteorological and climate phenomena in daily life," adding, "I hope this serves as an opportunity for citizens to realize the importance of weather and climate in their everyday lives and to cherish the weather and environment."

The photo exhibition is open to anyone using the permanent exhibition hall of the National Gwangju Science Museum, and the Cyber Science Museum of the National Gwangju Science Museum offers online access to the works' explanations along with the winning videos of the contest.
