Since the beginning of this year, Isu Group has planned the upcycling campaign 'UCYCLE' and collaborated with the upcycling brand ULKIN to produce tote bags and tumbler bags using vertical protective nets discarded after use at Isu Construction. At this Paris Fashion Week, fashion accessories made from used vertical protective nets were also presented on stage.
The core theme of the '2023 SS Paris Fashion Week' was 'sustainable fashion,' which has recently become an important topic in the fashion industry. Isu Group's upcycled bags feature a trendy and high-end design while preserving the cobalt blue color, the original color of the vertical protective nets.
The company stated, "Our sustainability value was recognized at this Paris collection, receiving favorable reviews from global fashion industry insiders."
Prior to Paris, Isu Group also participated in New York Fashion Week held last September. While New York Fashion Week mainly focused on modern designs, this Paris Fashion Week featured artistic and free-spirited designs.
Se-min Kim, Executive Director of Innovation Strategy at Isu Group, said, "As awareness grows that waste materials are assets, it is time to focus on industries that add new value beyond simple recycling or reuse. We believe upcycling is now a societal demand that enables sustainable fashion, so we will continue various upcycling campaigns that fulfill social responsibility."
