Korea Global Pharmaceutical Industry Association Publishes '2022 Annual Report'
47 Global Pharmaceutical Companies Affiliated with KRPIA
Supplied Over 1,450 Types of Medicines Domestically Last Year
Created 8,700 Jobs... Also Contributed to Social Responsibility
[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Gwan-joo] The Korea Research-based Pharmaceutical Industry Association (KRPIA) announced on the 5th that it has published the '2022 KRPIA Annual Report,' which covers the major activities of global pharmaceutical companies last year.
According to the report, the 47 global pharmaceutical companies affiliated with KRPIA supplied more than 1,450 types of medicines to domestic patients last year. In addition, they provided 8,700 jobs and continuously expanded domestic investments related to research and development for the advancement of the pharmaceutical industry.
Furthermore, global pharmaceutical companies returned 37.8 billion KRW in social contribution funds last year for community sharing and the advancement of medical science, including support for children·adolescents and patients. As part of ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) activities, they are planning and continuing campaigns to improve patient awareness together with patient organizations.

KRPIA stated, “For over 20 years, based on a vision that prioritizes patients, we have worked to expand patient access to innovative new drugs and to foster a domestic pharmaceutical bio-innovation ecosystem,” adding, “Through this report, we hope that more people will understand and empathize with the various value activities carried out by global pharmaceutical companies and that opportunities for communication will increase.”
