Yongin City Awards Scholarships to 120 Low-Income Middle and High School Students... Applications Accepted from 4th to 11th
[Asia Economy (Yongin) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] Yongin City in Gyeonggi Province will provide scholarships to 120 low-income youth from basic livelihood security recipients and near-poverty households.
Yongin City announced on the 3rd that it will provide scholarships of 300,000 KRW per person to a total of 120 students, including 60 middle school students and 60 high school students this year, and will accept applications at the administrative welfare centers in their respective jurisdictions from the 4th to the 11th of this month.
Since 2017, the city has been selecting academically outstanding students from children of low-income families, including basic livelihood security recipients and legally designated near-poverty groups, using self-support funds to provide scholarships.
The city will select recipients considering priorities and other factors, and distribute the scholarships in early next month.

A city official emphasized, "The self-support fund is used to promote the livelihood stability of low-income residents, support scholarships, and operate self-support business groups," adding, "We will carefully ensure that the scholarships are provided to students who truly need them."
