NHK: "North Korea Fires 2 Objects Possibly Ballistic Missiles... Fall Outside EEZ"
[Asia Economy Reporter Kwon Jae-hee] Japan's Ministry of Defense announced on the morning of the 1st that North Korea launched an object that is likely a ballistic missile, according to local broadcaster NHK and Kyodo News.
The Japan Coast Guard announced that it received notifications from the Ministry of Defense twice, at 6:47 AM and 7:01 AM, stating "an object likely to be a ballistic missile was launched from North Korea."
NHK, citing Japanese government officials, reported that "both the first and the subsequent launched objects fell outside Japan's Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ)."
It is known that there was no damage to Japanese vessels due to this projectile.

The South Korean Joint Chiefs of Staff also announced that North Korea launched a ballistic missile into the East Sea on the same day.
