Ministry of SMEs and Startups Opens 'New Business Startup Academy' in Jeju
Support for Small Business Startups
[Asia Economy Reporter Donghyun Choi] The Ministry of SMEs and Startups announced on the 27th that it has opened the ‘New Business Startup Academy,’ a regional hub supporting small business startups, in Jeju and will begin full-scale startup support services for prospective small business owners in the Jeju area.
The Jeju Academy is equipped not only with spaces for education and store operation practice but also with workshops and food manufacturing areas connected to Jeju’s excellent local content to develop products for sale. It also features photo and video studios for online market entry.
Graduates of the Jeju Academy will receive sales channel support linked to the Jeju Economic and Trade Promotion Agency’s ‘Jeju Quality Certification (JQ)’ system for excellent Jeju products. Additionally, various follow-up support projects such as the Local Brand School of the Jeju Center for Creative Economy and Innovation will be provided.
With the opening of the Jeju Academy, the Ministry of SMEs and Startups has established the 19th academy in 14 regions. By 2023, it plans to expand to 17 metropolitan cities and provinces nationwide, utilizing these academies not only for startups but also as innovative spaces for small business education and networking.
