On that day, Governor Kim boarded the Gyeonggi Cheongjeongho, which collects marine debris along the province's coast, observed the marine debris collection site at the onboard aggregation area, and then moved to the marine debris aggregation site within Jeongok Port.
After boarding the Gyeonggi Cheongjeongho, Governor Kim greeted the staff by saying, "The staff are working hard," and checked whether the staff were safe during the debris collection work and whether the fishermen cooperated well with the debris collection operations.
This visit was arranged to inspect the site and seek cooperation measures ahead of the win-win cooperation business agreement scheduled with Chungcheongnam-do on the 29th.
Gyeonggi Province and Chungnam Province plan to join forces to create a clean West Sea by forming a joint response consultative body for marine debris and jointly utilizing collection and processing infrastructure.
The province collects and processes more than 1,700 tons of coastal waste annually together with five coastal cities and counties, including Hwaseong City.
