KOSPI and KOSDAQ Extend Losses in Afternoon... KOSDAQ Down 2.58%
[Asia Economy Reporter Kwon Jaehee] The KOSPI index, which started with a slight decline, is recording a drop of over 1%. The KOSDAQ index expanded its decline to over 2% in the afternoon session.
As of 2:11 PM on the 23rd, the KOSPI index stands at 2293.02, down 1.68% (39.29 points) from the previous trading day. The index opened the day at 2331.33, down 0.04% (0.98 points).
Foreign investors and institutions are driving the index down by selling stocks worth 215.1 billion KRW and 202.6 billion KRW respectively. Meanwhile, individual investors are buying stocks worth 402.7 billion KRW, absorbing the volume sold by foreigners and institutions.
Among the top 10 stocks by market capitalization, only Samsung Electronics (0.18%) and NAVER (2.42%) are rising, while Samsung Electronics Preferred (0.00%) is unchanged. LG Energy Solution (-5.73%), SK Hynix (-2.21%), Samsung Biologics (-1.40%), LG Chem (-3.99%), Samsung SDI (-3.50%), Hyundai Motor (-1.03%), and Kia (-1.64%) are all declining.
At the same time, the KOSDAQ index is trading at 732.01, down 2.58% (19.40 points) from the previous trading day. The KOSDAQ opened at 749.87, down 0.20% (1.54 points) from the previous day.
By investor type, individuals and institutions are buying stocks worth 289.9 billion KRW and 13.2 billion KRW respectively, while foreigners are selling stocks worth 296.7 billion KRW.
Among the top 10 KOSDAQ stocks by market capitalization, only HLB (1.29%) is recording gains. Celltrion Healthcare (-1.69%), EcoPro BM (-6.02%), L&F (-7.11%), Kakao Games (-2.05%), Pearl Abyss (-2.73%), EcoPro (-3.29%), Celltrion Pharm (-2.76%), JYPEnt. (-1.49%), and Alteogen (-4.31%) are all declining.
KOSDAQ opened at 749.87, down 1.54 points (0.20%)
