Jeju Fire Station Conducts 'First Aid Training' for Jeju Buk Elementary School Staff
[Jeju=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Hwang Jeongpil] Jeju Fire Station (Chief Ko Jae-woo) announced on the 22nd that it conducted on-site first aid training for 40 faculty members of Jeju Buk Elementary School on the 21st.
This training focused on quickly identifying types of emergency patients through actual 119 emergency call cases, recognizing brief seizure symptoms or irregular cardiac arrest breathing patterns during acute cardiac arrest situations without missing them, and enabling early cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR).
The main training content included how to make a 119 emergency call, understanding the emergency medical system and types of emergency patients, CPR and automated external defibrillator (AED) usage, airway obstruction treatment methods, and experiencing initial first aid methods before the arrival of the ambulance in emergency situations.
Chief Ko Jae-woo stated, “All faculty members should regularly receive first aid training such as CPR, so it is expected that their ability to respond to emergency situations will steadily improve.”
He added, “In the case of witnessed cardiac arrest patients, anyone should be able to quickly activate the emergency medical system and cultivate initial first aid skills, so we will increase opportunities for focused and repeated training.”
Applications for on-site fire safety education can be made by contacting the Prevention and Safety Division of Jeju Fire Station.
