Hosted and organized by the Army Association and Defense Expo, the Defense Expo Korea is the largest ground defense exhibition in Korea, with military officials from over 50 countries and more than 350 domestic and international defense companies participating.
The common theme encompassing the Hanwha defense affiliates' exhibition halls is 'Future Battlefield.' The battlefield is expected to diversify with the combined operation of manned and unmanned systems and multi-layer domain combat capabilities. The three Hanwha defense companies prepared the largest integrated exhibition among participating companies and showcased numerous next-generation weapon systems incorporating future technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI), robotics, and lasers.
At one venue, visitors can see Hanwha's advanced defense technologies preparing for the future battlefield, including an intelligent multipurpose unmanned vehicle integrating AI technologies such as unmanned operation and autonomous driving (Hanwha Defense); the country's first export model of a 3D phased array multifunction radar capable of detecting, tracking, friend-or-foe identification, and missile guidance against multiple targets in all directions with a single radar (Hanwha Systems); and a drone detection and neutralization system using laser technology (Hanwha Corporation).
