This competition is being held for the first time in three years since 2019 due to the impact of COVID-19, and will run for seven days from the 16th to the 22nd. More than 2,600 participants from 460 teams nationwide, including disabled athletes, students, and general divisions, are participating.
Now in its 15th year, the Presidential Security Service Chief's National Shooting Competition was established in 2005 with the purpose of contributing to the cultivation and development of sports culture through shooting, considering the symbolic significance of the close relationship with the core duties of the Presidential Security Service as a national institution.
Hosted by the Presidential Security Service and organized by the Korea Shooting Federation, the competition simultaneously holds all shooting events across all divisions (general, student, disabled athletes). Along with the Bonghwanggi, National Police Agency Chief's Cup, Hanwha Chairman's Cup, and Federation President's Cup, it is regarded as one of the five major domestic shooting competitions.
In particular, this year's competition also serves as the selection event for the 2023 national team, reserve team, and international competition representatives, bringing together Olympic medalists and next-generation shooting prospects, promising more intense competition than ever before.
