[Asia Economy Reporter Changhwan Lee] Kyobo Life Insurance announced on the 16th that it will open an industry-academia linked education program with the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST) in collaboration with KT and Shinhan Bank to foster talent in big data and artificial intelligence (AI).
This KAIST industry-academia linked education program is an 11-week course conducted over three months. The program includes theoretical education in digital transformation, big data, and artificial intelligence, along with practical training related to digital innovation.
Notably, employees from KT and its affiliates (telecommunications, finance, IT) as well as Shinhan Bank (finance, credit, digital) will also participate in the program. The company explained that synergy is expected as employees from various fields meet to engage in practical training and collaborate on projects to discover new business models and digital innovation tasks.
Kyobo Life Insurance has set its management policy for this year as "Establishing a foundation for success in the digital era and accelerating challenges," and is focusing on pursuing "ambidextrous management" to continuously generate profits from its existing life insurance business while securing new growth engines to build a future foundation.
To accelerate digitalization, the company is also speeding up the establishment of a company-wide digital innovation culture and talent development. It is noteworthy that all employees are required to take courses to improve digital literacy to strengthen digital utilization capabilities.
Efforts are also being made to cultivate digital experts through programs such as the "Digital Internal Certification Course," "Digital Acceleration Course," and "Robotic Process Automation (RPA) Analysis and Design Course." To foster a digital innovation culture, an internal "Startup OJT Program" for employees is also underway.
